Haven Free Music School
Haven UMC offers free music lessons with free rental instruments to underprivileged students in the community who cannot access music lessons because of their financial situation.
About
​The Free Music School at Haven United Methodist Church was established in 2019 by Rev. Juhee Lee to share God's love with the under-served and vulnerable. This project seeks to transform our community through music.
​
We have seasonal family concerts and offer visiting concerts at nursing homes, senior centers, health centers, and other locations in the community. The music school is open to all and offers lessons for free.
​
Students are multi-cultural, multi-racial, and multi-age. We not only offer music lessons (piano, violin, ensemble) but also encourage students' self-esteem and hospitality toward others through sharing their gifts as well.
​
Along with the Free Music School, we offer the Healing Through Music Project for the vulnerable, weak, and sick in our society. Serving others is a way of discipleship and at the same time, is a way of transforming the world through music.

Please complete the Application, Liability Waiver, and Instrument Rental form (if needed) and return to Haven UMC by email, USPS, or bring it to the office Monday through Wednesday 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, Thursday 9:30 am to 2:30 pm.
​* Haven UMC is a Certifying Organization that has been granted authority to award the President’s Volunteer Service Award to volunteers for participation in the Music Program. Only community service hours performed in conjunction with the Haven Free Music School will be included in this award.
Haven United Methodist Church has a FREE MUSIC SCHOOL for the community of East Providence. Lessons for Violin, Viola, Cello, Piano, Trombone and Hand Chime Bells are available. However, there will be limited availability. First come, first served.
Community service hours may be earned for participation in this community outreach program.*
