Haven UMC has had basketball teams since the church building was completed in 1931. As the building was designed, having a gym for the youth in the community was a priority. Haven is part of a league with other local churches. The coach, Jim Hibbert, took over from his father, Al Hibbert, and has been coaching for 58 years.

The league is for boys and girls, and is open to ALL youth in the community from ages 8 to 17, and runs from October through March.
