Welcome to Haven United Methodist Church. Our church welcomes everyone as family. We are brothers and sisters in Christ. Our church, as the body of Christ, embodies radical hospitality to ALL of God's children because Jesus Christ has broken down all barriers between people and opened a way to be one in Christ.

As Jesus Christ embraced us through his sacrifice on the cross, Haven UMC welcomes all who need the warm embrace of love. Come to our church to experience God’s mysterious and marvelous love through our beloved community!
ABOUT OUR CHURCH
In the early 1870’s Methodist class and prayer meetings were held in East Providence at the homes of “Mother” Bowen on Freeborn Avenue and Mr. Barney on School Street and were led by members of Hope Street Church in Providence.
On June 13, 1875, the first preaching service was held in Chedel Hall on the corner of First Street and Warren Avenue, establishing an official Methodist church.
